Another day in paradise

We wrapped up another day at this amazing structure. All the valet people know me by name and truck of course, people are starting to say hi in the hallways. Nurses are remembering us. Its Crazy.

For some reason today was more emotional for me. I don’t know if it was being a little sleep deprived, I don’t know if it was the stress of being pulled a few ways or if it was just time to feel a little sad.

Brandon is spending a little more time in this lovely building which of course is hard on him. The medical teams are all great but we are sick of them all. Maybe they are sick of us too. Ha ha. Its crazy they haven’t really seen Brandon’s funny side yet, then they really would want to start hanging out more. I did see Brandon feel pretty good for the part of the day today which was Awesome.

We have decided to put him on TPN and come home with that to help give him the nutrition he needs but also give him the bump to help bulking up and gaining strength. It’s a little over whelming to bring home but we will get in the routine and make it all work like we did with the antibiotics. Our goal is to help him get over this nausea and back to eating a post whipple schedule.

His kidneys were injured by the antibotics and dehydration but not damaged which is great news, his numbers with that are trending in the right direction.

Our surgical team promised I would be able to get him home by Alex’s 10th birthday so I am going to hold them to that. We all want to spending the day with him.

I took him outside the past couple days which has been nice to get him in the sunshine.

Both kiddos had really fun field trips today and Alex had his first baseball game. He had a couple emotional moments being nervous and really missing Brandon’s support at the game. He broke down but he found the strength to get back out there and make a great hit. I was so proud of him, I thought I was going to explode. I know that was hard for him, he was so proud of himself too.

This little household on Edgewater it holding it together with a lot of support. Thanks for that. We are excited to get Brandon home again and hoping he has more energy soon. We would all love that but especially him! He deserves it!!!
