Brandon is enjoying healing at home. He floats from room to room!
The newest drain that was added last week is doing what the surgeon wants which makes us happy.
Recovery is really slow and an emotional roller coaster.
Energy is still really low, nothing tastes the same and Brandon is working through the recovery like a trooper. It's crazy how the PH balance in his mouth has changed which makes things he has always loved to eat, now not taste the same.
We probably have another week or so on the antibiotics through the pic line and hoping to have some of the drains removed or capped soon. We are meeting with the surgical team again on Monday.
These sunny spring days really help, being able to sit outside and have the windows open.
Our goals especially mine is to find the positive in the little things and get excited about it.
Of course we all want things back to normal but understand the reality that this takes time to heal and this was not only a serious surgery put lot of extra procedures to add different layers to the healing process.
We appreciate all the help to lightning the daily load with work, play, kids etc. We want the kids as active as possible and staying on their normal schedule. They are resilient. The balancing act will be worth it!
